Researchers and field experts of development cooperation in East and Northeast Asia region mostly from China, Japan, Republic of Korea and Russian Federation are gathering in the fifth North-East Asia Development Cooperation Forum from 14 to 15 September in Seoul, Republic of Korea. This year, the forum will explore on evaluation systems of development cooperation at project, program and policy levels. Discussions are expected to reflect the trends and policies of development cooperation review while creating an international network for various parties and strengthening the potential of North-East Asia community. The forum will be organized by ESCAP ENEA Office, co-hosted by Korea Association of International Development and Cooperation (KAIDEC).
The Forum is partnership effort among ESCAP East and North-East Asia Office, China International Development Research Network (CIDRN), Japan Society for International Development (JASID), Korea Association of International Development and Cooperation (KAIDEC) and Russian Association of International Development Assistance Experts (RAIDAE).
The first North-East Asia Development Cooperation Forum was held in November 2014 in Seoul in collaboration with KAIDEC, and the second Forum in Tokyo in October 2015, co-hosted by JASID and JICA Research Institute, and the third Forum in Suzhou in October 2016, co-hosted by CIDRN and Department of International Cooperation of Development Research Center (DRC) of State Council of China, and the fourth Forum in Moscow in September 2017, co-hosted by ESCAP ENEA, Russian Association of International Development Assistance Experts (RAIDAE) and the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration.
