North-East Asia Development Cooperation Forum 2019
Researchers and field experts of development cooperation in East and Northeast Asia region mostly from China, Japan, Republic of Korea and Russian Federation are gathering in the 6th North-East Asia Development Cooperation Forum from 27 to 28 September in Tokyo, Japan. This year, the forum will discuss multilateral cooperation and roles of Northeast Asian countries to achieve SDGs. Discussions are expected to highlight the North-East Asian countries’ approach towards multilateral cooperation in their development cooperation policies and strategies. The forum will be organized by ESCAP ENEA Office, co-hosted by Japan Society for International Development (JASID) and JICA Research Institute.
The Forum is partnership effort among ESCAP East and North-East Asia Office, China International Development Research Network (CIDRN), Japan Society for International Development (JASID), Korea Association of International Development and Cooperation (KAIDEC) and Russian Association of International Development Assistance Experts (RAIDAE).
The partners take turns in co-hosting the Forum. The first North-East Asia Development Cooperation Forum was held in November 2014 in Seoul in collaboration with KAIDEC, and the second Forum (2015) in Tokyo, co-hosted by JASID and JICA Research Institute, and the third Forum (2016) in Suzhou, China, co-hosted by CIDRN and Department of International Cooperation of Development Research Center (DRC) of State Council of China, and the fourth Forum (2017) in Moscow in September 2017, co-hosted by ESCAP ENEA, Russian Association of International Development Assistance Experts (RAIDAE) and the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration. The Forum in 2018 was held in Seoul in collaboration with KAIDEC.
