ASIA-PACIFIC BUSINESS FORUM

Ms. Armida Salsiah Alisjahbana was appointed Executive Secretary of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) on 13 September 2018.

Prior to joining ESCAP, Ms. Alisjahbana was Professor of Economics at Universitas Padjadjaran in Bandung, Indonesia, a position she assumed in 2005. She joined Universitas Padjadjaran as a lecturer in 1988. Since 2016, she has served as Director for the Center for Sustainable Development Goals Studies at Universitas Padjadjaran and Vice Chair of the Indonesian Academy of Sciences.

She also serves on the Governing Board of the Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia (ERIA), and member of the Indonesian Academy of Sciences (Akademi Ilmu Pengetahuan Indonesia - AIPI), the Forum of Statistics Community (Forum Masyarakat Statistik or Advisory Council of the Indonesian Statistics), the International Advisory Board of the Bulletin of Indonesian Economic Studies and Council Member of the Regional Science Association International (RSAI).

From 2009 to 2014, she was Minister of National Development Planning and the Head of the National Development Planning Agency (BAPPENAS), Indonesia. She served as Co-chair of the Global Partnership for Effective Development Cooperation from 2012 to 2014. From 2009 to 2014, she was Alternate Governor of the World Bank and Alternate Governor of the Asian Development Bank representing the government of Indonesia. In 2016, she was a member of the High Level Independent Team of Advisors to support the ECOSOC Dialogue on the longer term positioning of the United Nations Development System in the context of the 2030 Agenda on Sustainable Development.

Ms. Alisjahbana has been involved in various research projects and consultancies to the United Nations University/Institute for Advanced Study in Tokyo, the World Bank, the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT), Australia, the Australian Agency for International Development (AusAID), the European Commission, and the International Labor Organization (ILO).

Ms. Alisjahbana earned her Bachelor degree in Economics and Development Studies from Universitas Indonesia, Indonesia, a Masters degree in Economics from Northwestern University, USA and a Ph.D in Economics from University of Washington, USA. She was awarded the Mahaputra Adipradana Order (Bintang Mahaputra Adipradana) from the Republic of Indonesia, honorary brevet from the Indonesian Navy and honorary flight wing from the Indonesian Air Force.

A champion for sustainable development, ESG investment, digital transformation and the Green Economy, Dr. Lam is Chair of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific Sustainable Business Network (ESBN), and the ESBN Task Force on Sustainable and Inclusive Finance.  He is a member of the Governance Committee of the Hong Kong Growth Portfolio, and the Development Bureau Common Spatial Data Advisory Committee, of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, and Convenor of the Panel of Advisors on Building Management Disputes of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government Home Affairs Department. He is also a member of the Court of the City University of Hong Kong and the Belt and Road and Greater Bay Area Committee of the Hong Kong Trade and Development Council (HKTDC), Vice Chairman of Pacific Basin Economic Council (PBEC), Chairman of the Permanent Commission on Economic and Financial Issues of the World Union of Small and Medium Enterprises (WUSME), and President of Hong Kong-ASEAN Economic Cooperation Foundation.

Dr. Lam earlier served as Chairman of Hong Kong Cyberport, Hong Kong's digital technology flagship and global innovation hub.  He was a member of the Committee on Innovation, Technology and Re-Industrialization, the Sir Murray MacLehose Trust Fund Investment Advisory Committee, and the Central Policy Unit, of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government.  A former member of the Hong Kong Bar, Dr. Lam is a Solicitor of the High Court of Hong Kong, an Accredited Mediator of the Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution (CEDR), a Fellow of Certified Management Accountants (CMA) Australia, the Hong Kong Institute of Arbitrators, the Hong Kong Institute of Directors and the Institute of Corporate Directors Malaysia (ICDM), an Honorary Fellow of Certified Public Accountants (CPA) Australia, the Hong Kong Institute of Facility Management and the University of Hong Kong School of Professional and Continuing Education, and a Distinguished Fellow of the Hong Kong Innovation and Technology Development Alliance (HKITDA).  In 2019, Dr. Lam was awarded by the Hong Kong Government a Bronze Bauhinia Star (BBS) for serving the public.

Guy Bradley is Chairman of John Swire & Sons (H.K.) Limited, Swire Pacific Limited, Swire Properties Limited and Hong Kong Aircraft Engineering Company Limited.   He is also a Non-Executive Director of Cathay Pacific Airways Limited. 

Before taking up his current role as Chairman, Guy was the Chief Executive of Swire Properties, responsible for the Company’s overall management and strategic direction.  He joined the Swire group in 1987 and has worked with the group in the Hong Kong SAR, Papua New Guinea, Japan, the United States, Vietnam, the Chinese Mainland, Taiwan region and the Middle East.

Guy is a Vice-President of The Real Estate Developers Association of Hong Kong, a Vice Chairman of the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce and a member of the Chamber’s Investment Committee. He serves as a member of the Chief Executive’s Council of Advisers and as a Special Counsellor to the Our Hong Kong Foundation. Guy is also a member of the Riding for the Disabled Association’s Voting Committee.

Guy holds a Master’s degree in Politics, Philosophy & Economics from the University of Oxford.  A Chartered Surveyor, he is a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and a member of The Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors.

As Owner and Chief Executive Officer of the Sintesa Group (www.sintesagroup.com), Shinta is responsible for the Management and Expansion of the Group’s business interests in Indonesia. The Sintesa Group is an Indonesian group with 16 subsidiaries, which operates under four main pillars: Property, Energy, Industrial Products, and Consumer Products.

As a businesswoman, Shinta is involved in numerous business and social activities, including as the Coordinating Vice Chairwoman III for Maritime, Investment and Foreign Affairs of Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN Indonesia), Vice Chairwoman of Employers’ Association of Indonesia (APINDO), Regional Coordinator for the Asia-Pacific and Executive Board Member of International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), Founder of Indonesia Business Council for Sustainable Development (IBCSD), Founder of Indonesia Business Coalition for Women Empowerment (IBCWE), Founder of Angel Investment Network Indonesia (ANGIN), Strategic Advisor for the Business for Nature (BfN), Board of Trustees of the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), Board of Trustees of Indonesia Climate Change Trust Fund (ICCTF) and the Member of APEC Business Advisory Council (ABAC) Indonesia. She was chosen by the United Nations as one of 30 global corporate leaders to join the Global Investors for Sustainable Development (GISD Alliance). She was also elected to serve as Chair of B20 Indonesia during the Indonesian Presidency at the 2022 G20 Summit.

Shinta graduated from Barnard College of Columbia University New York in 1989 and Executive Education at Harvard Business School, Boston, Massachusetts, USA in 2002.

As part of her achievement, she was named Fortune Indonesia’s 20 Most Powerful Women 2022, The Asia Corporate Excellence & Sustainability (ACES) Woman Entrepreneur Of The Year 2019, FORBES Asia’s 50 Powerful Businesswomen (2012, 2013, & 2016), Business Indonesia Award’s 30 Best CEOs 2015, among many others. In 2017, she was decorated as the Commander of the Polar Star by the King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden and the Commander of the Order of Leopold of Belgium.

As a strong believer in sustainable development, Marjorie is a member of the High Level Steering Committee of UN Global Compact Action Platform on “Sustainable Infrastructure for the Belt and Road Initiative to accelerate the SDGs” and the Advisory Council of China Council for International Cooperation on Environment and Development (CCICED).

She is appointed as a member of the Chief Executive’s Council of Advisers, a high-level advisory body to advise the Chief Executive of HKSAR on the strategic development of Hong Kong, and a representative of Hong Kong, China to APEC Business Advisory Council (ABAC). She also serves as Chairman of the Seoul International Business Advisory Council (SIBAC) and Executive Board Member of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC).

Marjorie is dedicated to promoting education and innovative technologies. She is the Co-chairman of the advisory board of Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Lab (CSAIL) at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and serves as a member of various advisory boards, including Harvard University, Harvard Business School, MIT Sloan, Tsinghua University’s School of Economics & Management.

Marjorie is an Independent Non-executive Director for Budweiser Brewing Company APAC Limited.

She has a Bachelor of Science degree from MIT and an MBA from Harvard Business School.     

Poman is the Vice Chairman and Managing Director of Regal Hotels Group. She is also the Founding Managing Partner of AlphaTrio Capital, an Asia-focused sustainable technology fund empowering green tech unicorns to provide disruptive solutions for the world’s most pressing environmental challenges.

Poman serves as an Adjunct Professor teaching sustainable business management and impact investing at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. She founded the non-profit Institute of Sustainability and Technology with a mission to nurture ESG talent through executive education and advance the sustainability agenda through interdisciplinary research and international conferences.

Poman has been appointed as Member of Chief Executive’s Policy Unit Expert Group, Member of the Green Technology and Finance Development Committee, Council Member of Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Honorary President of Hong Kong Federation of Women.

Poman is the only person in Hong Kong to receive both the “Outstanding Young Person of the World Award” and the “Hong Kong Outstanding Students Award”. She is also the first and only female Asian recipient of the “Oslo Business for Peace Award” by the Business for Peace Foundation in Norway.  

Patrick Healy is Chair of Cathay Pacific Airways Limited and Swire Coca-Cola Limited. He is also Executive Director with board-level oversight of Sustainable Development at Swire Pacific Limited. Mr. Healy is also a Director and chairs the Philanthropy Council of John Swire & Sons (H.K.) Limited. He is also a Non-Executive Director of Air China Limited.

Mr Healy has been with the Swire Group for 35 years. He joined John Swire & Sons in 1988 as a management trainee. After six years with the Group’s Industries Division in Hong Kong and Germany, he transferred to Swire Coca-Cola in 1994, where he worked in various roles in bottling operations in Beijing, Nanjing, Xian and Xiamen until 2012. He was General Manager of the Shaanxi bottler from 2001-2005 and General Manager of the Fujian bottler from 2005-2008. In July 2008 he was appointed CEO, HAECO Xiamen. Mr Healy returned to Hong Kong in 2012 to take up the role of Managing Director, Swire Coca-Cola. He became Chairman of Swire Coca-Cola and Cathay Pacific on 1st October and 6th November 2019 respectively.

Mr Healy is an Advisory Board Member of the Swire Institute of Marine Science (SWIMS) and a Member of the Employers’ Federation of Hong Kong General Committee.

Mr Healy was born in 1965 and graduated in 1988 from St. John’s College, Cambridge University, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Modern Languages. He is married with three children.

Dr Kam joined the MTR Corporation Limited in 1995 and had held various management positions in the Operations, Projects and Mainland China and International Business Divisions. He was appointed as the CEO on 1 April 2019, and has been a Member of the Board since then.

As the CEO, Dr Kam is responsible for all performance of the Corporation and its group companies, both in and outside Hong Kong.

Dr Kam is a member of the Hong Kong Quality Assurance Agency Governing Council, the board of directors of The Community Chest of Hong Kong, the General Committee of The Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce, the General Committee of the Employers’ Federation of Hong Kong and the Council of the Hong Kong Management Association.  He is also an Honorary Chairman of the International Association of Public Transport (UITP).

Dr Kam qualified as a Chartered Engineer in the UK, a Chartered Fellow of CILT-HK and Institution of Occupational Safety and Health, and a Corporate Member of HKIE.  He holds a BSc in Civil Engineering and PhD in Mechanical Engineering. 

Dr Kam was appointed a Justice of the Peace and was awarded an Honorary Fellowship by Vocational Training Council, both in 2021.

As the Executive Vice-chairman and CEO of New World Development Company Limited, Adrian oversees the Group’s strategy and operations across the Group’s ecosystem of property development, investment, infrastructure, retail, health and wellness, insurance, education, and hospitality projects.  His vision in injecting sustainability, culture and innovation into his portfolio of businesses has led to several iconic projects in Greater China.

In 2008, he created the K11 brand, intertwining art, commerce and sustainability through malls, offices, and hospitality. K11 is expanding its footprint to 40 projects across 10 Chinese cities in 5 years. He also provides early-stage funding to technology start-ups and platforms that develop innovative solutions for modern life.

Adrian’s dedication to Creating Shared Value (CSV) to connect business success with social progress has won him the Shared Value Champion Award in 2020, the first CEO in Asia to claim this title.

Adrian serves as the chairman of the Hong Kong Mega Arts and Cultural Events Committee and a board member of the Hong Kong Financial Services Development Council. In 2022, he was awarded Silver Bauhinia Star (SBS) by the HKSAR Government for his contributions to the development of arts and the well-being of the underprivileged.

Tan Sri Michael O.K Yeoh is a social entrepreneur, public intellectual, thought leader and influencer who has had 35 years senior management, Boardroom, Consulting and international experience. He is an author of several books and is a speaker at many international conferences.

He was co-founder and CEO for 25 years of the Asian Strategy and Leadership Institute a globally ranked Think Tank, and is currently President of the Kingsley Advisory and Strategic Initiatives Sdn Bhd, a Business Advisory, research and events company as well as a Board member of several Public Listed companies in Investments, Finance, Property and Food. He sits on the Board of Governors of a University and the Board of Trustees of the OSK Foundation. He advises several new technology and e-Commerce companies.

He is Deputy President of the Society for Promotion of Human Rights (PROHAM), Secretary General of the Malaysia Japan Economic Association (MAJECA) and Director of the Malaysia-China Business Council. He has served as Malaysia’s Representative (Ambassador rank) on the ASEAN High Level Task Force on Connectivity and was a Commissioner in the Malaysian Competition Commission and the Human Rights Commission besides being a member of the Advisory Board of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission. He holds a Doctor of Laws (hc) from the University of Nottingham and a Bachelor of Economics from Monash University.

Kim-See Lim is the Regional Director for East Asia and the Pacific. Ms. Lim oversees the implementation of the region’s strategy, investment, and advisory business. IFC, a member of the World Bank Group, has a US$13 billion portfolio in region.

With a career spanning more than 26 years of investing in emerging markets across Africa, Asia, Eastern Europe, and Latin America, Ms. Lim is an accomplished global investment professional and leader in development finance. She has been responsible for originating and subsequently managing multi-billion dollar regional equity and debt investment portfolios across the consumer services, infrastructure, and financial sectors. She has led and motivated multicultural and multidisciplinary teams to execute on IFC’s strategy and business globally. Ms. Lim has also served on the boards and advisory committees of private companies in various emerging markets.

Her global career in development finance has taken her to more than 30 countries including frontier markets such as Belarus, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Dominican Republic, Kenya, Mozambique, Myanmar, Rwanda, and many others.

Ms. Lim is passionate about climate change, inclusive growth, and innovation. She is based in Hong Kong and is fluent in English, Cantonese, and Bahasa.

Ms. Lim has an MBA from University of Maryland, USA and undergraduate degree in Economics and Finance from Flinders University, South Australia, Australia

Glenda is Group Head of Emerging Business and FIC at HKEX and a member of the Management Committee. Based in Hong Kong, she is responsible for driving the Group’s emerging and fixed income and commodities (FIC) businesses. This entails ESG and carbon markets, data services and digital assets on the emerging business side, and currencies, bond interest rates, OTC clearing, commodities and structured products on the FIC side.

Prior to joining HKEX in 2020, Glenda spent four years as COO of a macro hedge fund in Singapore. Glenda has spent most of her career with Goldman Sachs, whereby during her 23 years with the bank she was a managing director responsible for Asia Ex-Japan Operations, Global Listed Derivatives and OTC Clearing Operations, and Asia Securities and Clearing Operations. She also spent three years in Currency Options Trading and Listed Derivatives Business Development.

Glenda is a board director at Bond Connect Company Limited, a board member at the International Securities Services Association, and a member of the Hong Kong Trade Development Council’s Financial Services Advisory Group.

Mr. Leong Cheung joined the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) in July 2023 as the Chief Strategy Officer of the Exchange Fund Investment Office.  Before joining the HKMA, Mr. Cheung was the Executive Director of Charities & Community at The Hong Kong Jockey Club (HKJC). In this capacity, he was also the founding co-chair of the Hong Kong Chapter of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Solutions Network (UN SDSN).

Prior to joining the HKJC, Mr. Cheung was the Operating Partner of Bain Capital. Before that he was the Managing Director of Global Sourcing & Supply Chain at Esquel Group, the founder and CEO of an education focused internet venture, and a senior consultant at the Boston Consulting Group.

Mr Cheung graduated BBA from The Chinese University of Hong Kong and MBA from the Harvard Business School.

Tasos, is part of UBS Group Chief Sustainability Office and is the Co-Head of the APAC Sustainable Finance Office whose objective is to enable business divisions ESG capabilities and support UBS clients ESG/SI agenda.  Tasos leads UBS's global Carbon working group and is responsible for client engagements in transition, decarbonization and impact, he has represented UBS in the Taskforce for Voluntary Carbon Offset Markets and the development of Carbonplace, a carbon credit settlement infrastructure platform. He co-ordinates a number of UBS efforts in Carbon product development and has an extensive network with carbon product developers, buyers and infrastructure players and regularly advises regulators in this topic.

Tasos holds a Master in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Imperial College and an MBA in Entrepreneurship from the American College in Greece.  He holds certificates in in Sustainable Investing from CSP University of Switzerland, CFA ESG Investing, Sustainability and Climate Risk from GARP and Circular Economy from Cambridge and is a Certified Al Gore Climate Reality Leader speaker. He has further advanced his knowledge in Alternative Investments from Harvard and Impact Investing from Columbia university.

As the General Manager of Technology & Innovation, Ben manages and drives New World Development’s open innovation platform and proptech strategy that empowers technology startups to co-create within the group’s ecosystem of culture, creativity, and innovation. In addition, Ben oversees early-stage investments and venture-build exercises. 

Ben launched Impact Kommons, the first UN SDG accelerator in APAC focused on accelerating impact with purpose-driven startups, and the GBA Accelerator, a supply chain, logistics, and robotics startup accelerator designed to help companies scale across the Greater Bay Area.

Prior to Eureka Nova, Ben founded Startup Launchpad, now Asia’s largest I.o.T. startup trade event. He has helped startups raise more than $2 million on Kickstarter and Indiegogo. He is an angel investor and regularly mentors in startup support programs. Ben graduated from Dickinson College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, and holds a Masters in Business Administration from the Chinese University of Hong Kong.

With the vision to empower the development of a more sustainable city in Hong Kong, Travis is driving energy management development and digital transformation via strategic initiatives and partnership. Being the trusted partner to deliver solutions towards carbon neutrality, Travis works closely with end-users, consultants and contractors, bringing latest innovation & technology to the market.

As a strong business development professional, Travis possesses a wealth of experience in the energy industry with various roles, from Engineering to Sales & Marketing, Business Development to General Management. Prior to re-joining Schneider Electric in 2023, Travis worked with leading companies e.g. General Electric  and CLP, acquiring a comprehensive pool of solid experience in power generation, transmission & distribution, control & automation, building energy management & digital solutions.

Travis is a Fellow of Energy Institute (UK). Travis is also a part-time guest lecturer for various universities.

Ariel Shtarkman is Managing Partner of Undivided Ventures, VC platform investing in early-stage technology companies, identifying a pathway to a more sustainable future for the built environment – real estate, infrastructure and cities. She is also the Founder of Orca Capital, boutique investment firm and family office focusing on real estate and technology.

Previously, Ariel was with Citibank Real Estate Structured Finance in Hong Kong, where she structured debt instruments for real estate developers, REITs and private equity funds. She also worked in real estate private equity funds sponsored by ING Clarion in New York and ING Real Estate Investment Management in Hong Kong.

Ariel holds an MBA from Columbia Business School with concentration in Real Estate, and BSc from Tel Aviv University with double major in Computer Science and Business Administration. She serves as Urban Land Institute (ULI) Global Governing Trustee and as a Vice Chair of ULI Hong Kong.

Lit Ping leads PwC’s Asia Pacific Climate Change practice and was a Senior Specialist to the World Bank’s Finance, Competitiveness and Innovation Practice.

She is an experienced climate strategy, policy and finance economist with nearly 20 years of experience providing advisory services to public and private sector clients on climate change, environmental and social issues and green finance.

She has a track record of collaboration with international organisations including World Economic Forum, World Bank/IFC, UNFCCC, the Climate Development Knowledge Network (CDKN), New Climate Economy (NCE), Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI), International Emissions Trading Association (IETA), World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD), Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) and the UN Environment Programme Finance Initiative (UNEPFI).

Brandon Ng is Co-founder and CEO and Ampd Energy. Ampd is an organisation which is driven by its vision of ‘an Emission Free Future for Industries’, and had pioneered the use of energy storage technology in the construction industry. Ampd launched its ‘Enertainer’ energy storage system in 2019 and today, over 170 construction sites in Australia, Hong Kong, Singapore, UAE, the UK and the US are powered without fossil-fuels through the Enertainer, including half of the building construction projects in Hong Kong. To date, the Enertainer has abated the equivalent of 100,000 cars of air pollutants, a figure which is rapidly growing.

Ampd was a finalist in the Earthshot Prize–the Nobel Prize for the environment founded by HRH Prince William–in 2022 and in 2021, Brandon was the recipient of Tatler Gen.T x Credit Suisse's Socia Impact Award in 2021. Brandon is originally from Brunei and holds a Masters in Chemical Engineering from Imperial College London.

Benjamin Soh is the Managing Director of STACS, Asia’s leading ESG data and technology company, headquartered in Singapore. Its ESGpedia platform powers the ESCAP Sustainable Business Network (ESBN) Asia-Pacific Green Deal digital platform, the ASEAN Single Accesspoint for ESG Data (SAFE) pilot initiative, and the Monetary Authority of Singapore’s (MAS) Project Greenprint ESG Registry. ESGpedia serves as the Nexus of ESG Finance with ESG data and digital solutions across multiple industries, for the financial sector, corporates and SMEs to attain their ESG goals.

A serial FinTech entrepreneur who previously founded a multinational, regulated B2B FinTech serving the needs of more than 100 financial services firms worldwide, Ben is also currently serving as the Chairman of the Green and Sustainable FinTech Sub-Committee of the Singapore FinTech Association (SFA).

Ms. Dawra is a 1991 Batch officer of Indian Administrative Service. Currently serving the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, as Special Secretary, (Secretary equivalent), in Logistics division, she is in charge of implementation of Government of India’s (GoI) flagship programme for infrastructure planning – PM GatiShakti National Master Plan.

Earlier, from 1993-2008, she served in districts of the State of Andhra Pradesh in development and welfare programmes and later at the state level in various positions.

Thereafter she was posted in the Ministry of Finance in GoI and subsequently at the Indian Mission in Beijing, PRC, as Head of the Economic Wing from 2011-2014.

Upon completion of her tenure, she served as Principal Secretary, Department of Higher Education, and later as Principal Secretary, Department of Transport, Road & Building, from 2014-2017, in the state of Andhra Pradesh.

While on deputation at the UNICEF, India, from 2017-2019, she handled several governance projects for India.

As Additional Secretary, DPIIT, she facilitated important work related to investment outreach, including the National Single Window System for investors. During the second wave of COVID in 2021, she was tasked to manage the critical oxygen distribution program of the Government of India.

Ms. Dawra holds Masters and M.Phil degrees in Economics, and two Master’s degrees in Business Management and Public Policy, respectively.

Currently she is also serving on the Board of National Bank for Financing Infrastructure & Development (NaBFID).

She has several publications including two books on public policy.

Mr Simmonds is responsible for CLP Group strategic planning and the strategy agenda as well as driving the Group’s sustainability agenda and ensuring that it is embedded into the business.

He is also responsible for managing the investments and ventures that help support CLP’s growth strategy, the Group’s investments in South East Asia and Taiwan and the Group’s property development activities.

In addition, Mr Simmonds is the Group General Counsel & Company Secretary of CLP Holdings, responsible for the provision of legal, corporate secretarial and insurance services across the Group.

Mr Simmonds is a Vice-President of The Hong Kong Chartered Governance Institute (HKCGI) and is a Fellow of both The Chartered Governance Institute and HKCGI. He is also a Board Director of the Australian Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong and Macau and a member of The Asia Society. Mr Simmonds is also a member of the Standing Committee on Company Law Reform.

Mr Simmonds holds a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Melbourne.

Er. Melvyn Thong is a seasoned professional with over 30 years of expertise in design, supervision and project management of electrical and mechanical installation across an array of sectors, including power plants, industrial facilities, commercial space, road and railway transit projects.

As Deputy Group Director Rail Electrical & Mechanical, Melvyn oversees and ensures the successful completion of both greenfield and brownfield projects for Singapore’s Road and Rapid Transit projects. His leadership encompasses major endeavours such as Thomson East Coast Line, Downtown Line, NorthSouth EastWest Line asset renewal, Circle Line and Bukit Panjang LRT asset renewal.

As LTA Chief Specialist for E&M (Power), Melvyn has been instrumental in building up engineering capabilities in traction power design within LTA. Melvyn leads the team in the implementation of PV and EV in our journey to achieve cleaner energy and lower our carbon footprint for our Land Transport system. He also contributed to the development and review of many International and Singapore Standards such as the CP for fire safety for RTS and Roads, NFPA 502, TR25 etc.

Melvyn is also a Chartered Electrical Engineer (UK), Singapore Professional Engineer and Singapore Licensed Electrical Engineer (up to 22kV).

Wesley has over 20 years of general management and investment experience, and is currently President of qonvolv Ventures, established in 2023, the corporate ventures arm of Tessellation Group. qonvolv Ventures aims to be the hub of industry knowledge and technologies for innovative growth in fashion industry and beyond, and conducts both incubation of creative solutions as new businesses and investments in emerging technologies in manufacturing excellence, digital value chain, green tech, and enablement of future workforce. 

Previously Wesley spent over six years with Esquel Group, having taken on various positions including Chief of Staff to Chairman, Head of Corporate Communications, and Head of Group Finance before establishing Esquel Ventures in January, 2022.

Prior to joining Esquel, Wesley was an Executive Director of China Infrastructure Partners Fund and Bank of China International Private Equity, evaluating and investing in private equity opportunities with Greater China and Asia angles. Wesley also worked in investments and M&A at Oaktree Capital and Alibaba, after having started his career as a management consultant at Bain & Company. 

Born and raised in Hong Kong, Wesley obtained his Bachelor of Science and Master of Engineering degrees in Civil Engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology. 

Mr. Liang Zhan, Fudan MIT MBA has long term experience in international cooperation, business development, equipment sales, and project investments in
renewables field. Mr. Liang Zhan has been working as international business director for Sany Group, Furui Special Equipement, ZPMC Profundo. Now he works for Shanghai SUS Environment Co., L td. as deputy director of international business.

Mr. Liang Zhan has involved in several wind or natural gas projects across America, Asia, and African market. He participated in the ever largest wind farm project in Ethiopia, the first wind farm invested by Chinese developers, the first self elevated WTIV imported from Europe, and the first small scale LNG plant in Asia. Now, he’s focusing on international investment, construction and operation of waste to energy projects.

Mr Ho assumed the post of the Commissioner for Belt and Road on 1 September 2023. He is leading the Belt and Road Office under the Commerce and Economic Development Bureau to formulate overall strategy and spearhead policy in taking forward Hong Kong's full participation in the Belt and Road Initiative, and to promote the connections with relevant sectors, thereby strengthening Hong Kong's role as a functional platform in the Belt and Road Initiative.

Before joining the Government, Mr Ho was a registered architect in Hong Kong who had held senior positions in an international architectural practice for the past ten years and was appointed Chair of the firm from 2020. He had led a number of Belt and Road related projects involving smart cities development and green buildings construction. As the Convenor of Hong Kong Trade Development Council Belt and Road Committee Professional Services Working Group and the Co-convenor of the Belt and Road Working Group of the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce,  Mr Ho had partnered with different stakeholder groups, including the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, in promoting the Belt and Road Initiative through participation in seminars and mission trips, etc.

Mr Ho has been representing Hong Kong, China on the APEC Business Advisory Council since 2017 and has good exposure in representing Hong Kong at different fora, locally and internationally.

Mr Ho received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Architecture from the University of Greenwich, and completed his Architectural Diploma at the Architectural Association in London.

Georgina Lok is the Head (Market Development) of the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA), responsible for formulating and implementing various initiatives to promote the development of Hong Kong's financial sector. Since joining the HKMA, Georgina has taken up responsibilities in different areas, including corporate development as well as international and regional cooperation. Dr Jimmy Chiang is Associate Director-General of Invest Hong Kong, the government department responsible for attracting and facilitating foreign direct investment into Hong Kong.

He joined Invest Hong Kong in August 2003 and was promoted to Head of Tourism and Hospitality in September 2010. He took up the ADG position in April 2015, in which he oversees the Department’s investment promotion strategies in the areas of Business and Professional Services, Consumer Products, Creative Industries, Financial Services, Tourism and Hospitality and Transport and Industrial. Prior to joining Invest Hong Kong, Dr Chiang worked with a Hong Kong-based multinational transportation company in a number of different managerial roles for five years.

Dr Chiang has a doctorate in hotel and tourism management at The Hong Kong PolytechnicUniversity. He also has a master's degree in business administration from The University of British Columbia and a bachelor's degree in social sciences from The University of Hong Kong.

Anthony is a Sustainability entrepreneur, investor and author. He joined IVL armed with 20 years of experience in this field and can be seen as a pioneer and early advocate of the importance of sustainability in Business. His last position was Head of Growth – Innovation and Smart Mobility at Alstom, based in Bangkok. Prior to that he was Global Head of Digital and Climate Innovation at Bombardier and amongst other roles, a consultant for different organizations, including his own firm to drive sustainable innovations, clean energy and market transformation to a profitable, environmentally better way of doing business.

With his vast experience and his sustainable enthusiasm, Anthony helps IVL identify and capture the opportunities linked to climate change. From renewable energy procurement to green financing, he drives projects and strategic initiatives from ideation to implementation to keep IVL as a chemical industry front runner and sustainability champion. He supports IVL in developing its competitive advantage within the industry to continue being a preferred supplier for our customers and a strong sustainability influence in the world.

Anthony arrived in Thailand in 2014 after a 1-year trip around the world with his family. He holds a PhD from University of Toronto, Canada.

Janet Pau is the Executive Director of the Asia Business Council. Previously, she was the Director of The Economist Group’s Corporate Network in Hong Kong, the Program Director of the Asia Business Council, and Manager at the Global Business Policy Council at consulting firm Kearney in Washington D.C. Janet’s publications include Through the Eyes of Tiger Cubs: Views of Asia’s Next Generation and Building Energy Efficiency: Why Green Buildings are Key to Asia’s Future (Chinese edition). She has written and spoken extensively in her role at The Economist Group, published articles in the South China Morning Post and Fortune China, and written book chapters and spoken regularly on issues including trade and investment, economic competitiveness, inclusive growth, and technology and the future of work in Asia. Janet received a Bachelor of Arts degree in international studies and psychology with distinction from Yale University and a Master in Public Policy from Harvard University.

Craig Katerberg is the Chief Legal and Corporate Affairs Officer for Budweiser APAC, a $45bn USD brewer focused on sustainable growth in Asia with 26,000 colleagues, 47 breweries and 50 beer brands, which listed on the HKEx in September 2019.

His responsibilities include external affairs, legal, compliance, crisis management, government affairs, ESG, company secretary, communications, and he has served on the Board of Directors for various public and private companies

Craig leads a team of 100+ people and has served in various senior management roles while being based in Hong Kong, the United States, Shanghai, Belgium and Australia. He has consummated over $130B of complex transactions in the beverage sector, including for operations in Australia, China, India, Korea, United States among other countries.

Craig builds strong teams by finding excellent people, working hard with them to set and reach uncomfortable goals, and helping the business grow in the right way. He enjoys working in cross cultural environments, promoting talented people better than himself, and finding solutions that work for multiple people, often in challenging environments.

Prior to his career in beer, Craig worked in public and private practice where he served the City of New York under Mayor Bloomberg and at law firms in New York, Brazil and Peru.

Craig is a US citizen who speaks English, Spanish and some Portuguese. He holds degrees from the University of Chicago and from Northwestern University School of Law.  His favorite beer is Goose Island.

Throughout his service with EPD, Mr Wong had taken up a wide range of responsibilities, including international collaboration, development of environmental infrastructures, environmental impact assessment, waste reduction and law enforcement.

Ms. Rupa Chanda is the Director of Trade, Investment and Innovation. Prior to that, she was a Professor of Economics at IIM Bangalore and the Dean of Programmes at the institute. She has worked as an Economist at the IMF and briefly served as Head, UNESCAP Subregional Office for South and South-West Asia in New Delhi. Prof. Chanda received her PhD in Economics from Columbia University and her Bachelor’s from Harvard University. She teaches Macroeconomics and International Trade and has received teaching awards. Her research interests include the WTO, trade in services, regional integration and migration. She hasundertaken research and professional assignments forinternational and Indian organizations and has published extensively in the form of books, journal articles, book chapters, and reports. She is active professionally as a research guide, reviewer, and member of several expert committees. She was member of the WHO’s Review Committee on the functioning of the International Health Regulations (2015-16) and  the WHO’s Expert Advisory Group, International Recruitment of Health Personnel (2019-20).

Ms. Tientip Subhanij is the Chief of Sustainable Business Network of the United Nations ESCAP. She has over 20 years of experience in macroeconomics, the financial sector, international trade and investment issues. Throughout her career, she has served in several key managerial and professional positions in academia, government and the private sector, including the Bank of Thailand, the Stock Exchange of Thailand, the Bank for International Settlements and South East Asian Central Banks. At the United Nations ESCAP, she has managed an extensive portfolio of work on climate finance, SME financing and infrastructure investment for various countries in the Asia-Pacific region and beyond. She provided advisory services on sustainable capital market development and successfully helped the Royal Government of Bhutan issue its first-ever sovereign bond in 2020. She manages two ESCAP networks, namely the Infrastructure Financing and Public-Private Partnership Network of Asia and the Pacific and the ESCAP Sustainable Business Network, where she led several reforms, including InfraPPPnet web portal and the Asia-Pacific Green Deal for Business. She has published widely in macroeconomics, financial markets, international finance, business and investment. Ms. Subhanij holds an M.Phil. and Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Cambridge, United Kingdom.
