The e-learning course on analysing value chains and trade flows is a self-paced training course. The course is developed for policy analysts that would like to build research and practical skills in evidence-based policy analysis that related to Global Value Chains (GVCs).

Learning approach

You can take the course at your own pace.

The course includes five video modules as follows,

  1. Understanding Global Value Chains (GVCs) and Trade in Value Added
  2. Measurements, Indicators, Interpretation
  3. Using Regional Integration and Value Chain Analyzer (RIVA) in Policy Analysis
  4. GVCs and Policy Issues in the Post COVID-19 New Normal 
  5. Hands-on Using Value Chain Analyzer in RIVA

Each module contains a quiz. The participant must complete the module quiz before moving to the next modules.

Depending on your familiarity with the topic, you may allocate about 1-2 hours of your time per module.

Getting a certificate

The online course also includes the possibility of obtaining the course certificate. To obtain a certificate, the course participant must achieve more than 65 percent correct answers on each module QUIZ.

The online course was developed by the Trade, Investment and Innovation Division (TIID), ESCAP based on selected sessions of the online capacity building workshop on trade and trade policy analysis for the post-COVID-19 recovery.
