The COVID-19 pandemic has brought unprecedented challenges to the world. After the outbreak of COVID-19, China, Japan and the Republic of Korea have adopted different approaches to contain the virus according to the local context. They have effectively curbed further widespread infection and taken measures to ensure a safe and smart return to daily life.

Knowledge sharing on the approaches and measures in dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic among the countries and stakeholders is critical for their effective response and swift recovery from the crisis. To this end, the Webinar, jointly organized by the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) East and North-East Asia Office and Trilateral Cooperation Secretariat (TCS), provides a unique opportunity to get first-hand accounts from prominent experts of the three countries who were instrumental in developing national COVID-19 responses and discuss their views on key challenges and forward-looking strategies.
