Integrated geospatial data applications provide innovative pathways to support a comprehensive evaluation of the progress being made toward achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). With funding support from China-ESCAP Cooperation Fund, ESCAP is implementing a project titled Building institutional capacity for the use of integrated spatio-temporal data in local SDGs monitoring and decision-making to support space and mapping agencies and local governments to integrate geospatial data, statistics, and ground-based information for monitoring the progress and implementation of the SDGs.

An expert advisory meeting will be convened from 5 to 7 July 2022 to discuss project approaches and strategic alignment with the Asia-Pacific Plan of Action on Space Applications for Sustainable Development (2018–2030) and incorporate lessons learned from related initiatives into the project implementation strategy going forward.
