Disruptions in transport connectivity caused by recent crises have accelerated digitalization in the transport sector. The wider utilization of technology and innovative solutions have generated momentum to further improve the efficiency and resilience as well as social and environmental sustainability in the transport sector. This is a welcome development for the East and North-East Asia subregion, especially in the context of the Greater Tumen Initiative (GTI) platform, advancing the implementation of the GTI Regional Transport Strategy and Action Plan 2021-2024.

To this end, the 3rd ESCAP-GTI Seminar on Transport Issues in North-East Asia will focus on the theme Digitalization of Transport towards Resilient, Seamless and Sustainable Connectivity. The Seminar, organized annually, is held in conjunction with the meeting of the GTI Transport Board.
