ESCAP in collaboration with the Department of Alternative Energy Development and Efficiency (DEDE) are developing the provincial SDG7 roadmap for Surat Thani Province with Provincial Energy Officers and organizations by using NEXSTEP tool. A focal point meeting was organized to update progress of the project on 1 December 2021.
To share the primary results of ESCAP's analysis to broader stakeholders, the consultation workshop will be organized on 9 December for feedbacks from representatives of organizations.
NEXSTEP’s preliminary analysis highlights the need for stronger governmental support in increasing the adoption of electric vehicles which will not only increase energy efficiency but will reduce emission from the transport sector. Details of different scenarios and recommended policy measures will be discussed in the workshop.
Objective of the meeting;
1) To present key findings from ESCAP analysis to Provincial Energy Officers, and representatives from organizations.
2) To collect feedback and suggestion of the stakeholder and reflect to the final roadmap of the provinces.
