This feasibility study, prepared by the Research Institute for Water and Waste Management at the RWTH Aachen and Universitas TanjungPura, examines application of a decentralized wastewater collection and treatment system for a pilot area in Jakarta, Indonesia. Building on AECOM's scoping study that reviewed potential wastewater treatment technologies at 13 geographic locations, this follow-up feasibility study involves deeper investigation into the pilot area of Cambela. Researchers considered water supply, wastewater collection and wastewater treatment processes to develop recommendations to improve conditions and prepare for possible installation of an integrated wastewater collection and treatment system. Authors estimate CAPEX and OPEX and propose recommendations to strengthen institutional capacity.
