UNESCAP Bangkok Waste Accounts, 2017 – 2020 Read Report

This is a report of a case study that demonstrates how the System of Environmental-Economic Accounting (SEEA) framework, focusing on solid waste accounts, can be applied and implemented at a micro scale, e.g., in a company or an organization. The ESCAP Bangkok compound served as the facility for this case study.

The Waste Accounts (physical supply and use tables) was generated for the UNESCAP Bangkok compound for the period 2017- 2020. The results of the waste accounts provides supplemental information, evidence and recommendations to improve the ESCAP's waste management programme and strategies.

Summary of Report: Bhutan Waste accounts Report-2021 Read Report

This is a report on the pilot compilation of the Waste Accounts (2019) in Bhutan using the System of environmental-Economic Accounting (SEEA) that integrates economic and environmental data to provide a more comprehensive view of the interrelationships between the economy and the environment. This document was developed in collaboration between the National Bureau of Statistics of Bhutan and UN ESCAP under the Strengthening statistical capacity of member states to address data availability challenges for environment-related SDGs under the Regular Programme of Technical Cooperation (RPTC).

This is one of three projects that provided effective technical assistance and support enabling countries to compile water and waste accounts through shared knowledge and experience.

Summary of Report: Maldives National Waste Accounts (2018-2019) Final Report Read Report

This is a report on the pilot compilation of the national Waste Accounts (2018-2019) focusing on waste generation and management within the Maldives. The Waste Accounts was prepared based on the System of Environmental-Economic Accounts (SEEA) methodology. Waste producers are classified according to the main economic industries most relevant to the Maldives. Waste categories and management methods were derived based on national policies and legislation as well as published reports and existing waste management practices in the Maldives. This technical assistance (TA) project was implemented by the National Bureau of Statistics of Maldives in cooperation with UNESCAP under the Strengthening statistical capacity of member states to address data availability challenges for environment-related SDGs under the Regular Programme of Technical Cooperation (RPTC).

Summary of Report: Maldives National Water Accounts 2018-2019 Read Report

This report is to present the pilot compilation of the national Water Accounts for the Maldives for the years 2018 and 2019, by applying the System of Environmental-Economic Accounts (SEEA) methodology.  Some of the objectives of the water accounts are to develop a multi-purpose data system which serves user needs - government, service providers, non-Governmental organizations, citizens; identify key indicators and proxy indicators on water for evaluating effectiveness of national policy and planning, as well as progress on SDGs; and identify data gaps and propose activities that will help improve data collection and dissemination. This technical assistance (TA) project was implemented by the National Bureau of Statistics of Maldives in cooperation with UNESCAP under the Strengthening statistical capacity of member states to address data availability challenges for environment-related SDGs under the Regular Programme of Technical Cooperation (RPTC).

Summary of Report: Mongolia Waste and Water Final Report Read Report

This is a report on how Mongolia developed the national compilation methodologies for the Water and Waste Accounts by applying the System of environmental-Economic Accounting (SEEA); the generation of solid and hazardous waste for 2018 and 2019 and  the preliminary result of the physical supply and use tables, water accounts for 2019. This technical assistance (TA) project was implemented by the National Statistics Office of Mongolia with support from the UNESCAP under the Strengthening statistical capacity of member states to address data availability challenges for environment-related SDGs under the Regular Programme of Technical Cooperation (RPTC).
