UNNExT workshop on Paperless Trade Facilitation for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises in Central Asia
UNESCAP is organizing a Workshop on Paperless Trade Facilitation for Small and Medium- Sized Enterprises (SMEs) to be held in Almaty, Kazakhstan, from 4 – 6 May 2015.
The event is part of the ongoing United Nations Network for Paperless Trade in Asia and the Pacific (UNNExT) initiative aiming to build national governments’ capacity to implement paperless systems for cross-border trade and transport facilitation and support the implementation of national and regional single windows in developing countries of the region.
This workshop will provide training to identify trade facilitation measures and programmes that enable SMEs’ participation in international trade and global value chains. It is also seeking to share and collect practices for a Guide on Paperless Trade Facilitation for SMEs. The training is targeting practitioners and policy makers in the area of trade facilitation and focusing on SMEs, in particular with exposure to Information and Communications Technology (ICT) applications, from 7 countries in the North and Central Asian subregion.
