Tonga prepare for Voluntary National Reviews (VNR)

ESCAP supported Tonga in preparations for their Voluntary National Reviews (VNR) to be presented at the upcoming 2019 High-Level Political Forum. ESCAP partnered with UNDESA to support the mission. With representatives from national governments and civil society, the mission team facilitated stakeholder consultations, supported drafting of various section of VNR report, including through analysing data and information to support the important narratives which stakeholders wanted to convey. VNRs play an important role in ensuring countries are on the right track to achieve national development priorities and the SDGs, serving as country-driven roadmaps to review progress.
