The “Third South Asia Forum on the Sustainable Development Goals” was jointly organized by the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP) and the Government of Bangladesh. The Forum took place on 8-9 December 2019 in Dhaka.
The South Asia Forum on SDGs has evolved into a vibrant multi-stakeholder platform in the region, providing a subregional forum to the Governments, think-tanks, civil society, among other stakeholders, to share challenges, opportunities and good practices for achieving SDGs in South Asia and identify areas of regional cooperation for promoting the SDGs. The Forum also serves as the preparatory for the Asia and Pacific Forum on Sustainable Development (APFSD) for South Asian countries and the High-Level Political Forum (HLPF) of the United Nations.
The Forum is a unique opportunity to bring together the stakeholders from governments, academia, the international community, civil society and the private sector to share knowledge and discuss key challenges and opportunities implementing the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. The Forum provides opportunities for complementing the subregional agenda on Regional road map for implementing the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development in Asia and the Pacific.
