Side Event "Moving the Asian and Pacific Ministerial Declaration on Population and Development Agenda forward: Filling the gaps identified by the Midterm Review"

Through an interactive panel discussion, this side event highlighted the main findings of the 2018 Midterm Review of the Asian and Pacific Ministerial Declaration on Population and Development and identified its contribution to achieving relevant Goals and targets of the 2030 Agenda. It addressed areas of progress and challenges to the full implementation of the actions of the Ministerial Declaration and the implications for sustainable development in the region.

Panelists included H.E. Ms. Meresini Vuniwaqa, Minister for Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation, Fiji, Dr. Juan Antonio Perez III, Executive Director of the Commission on Population and Development of the Philippines, Dr. Sureeporn Punpuing, Associate Professor, Institute for Population and Social Research, Mahidol University, and Mr. Sangeet Kayastha, Co-Ordinator, Y-PEER Asia-Pacific Centre.
