SARNET Regional Conference on Meeting the Challenges of Employment and Inclusive Growth in South Asia

The SARNET Regional Conference on Meeting the Challenges of Employment and Inclusive Growth in South Asia, which will be held in New Delhi on 24-25 October 2015, is being convened by the South Asia Research Network on Employment and Social Protection for Inclusive Growth (SARNET).
The SARNET programme aims to bring together research institutions and scholars working on employment and social protection in South Asia, to help devise policy options that generate decent employment, enhance social protection and achieve inclusive growth. The countries involved in the present research, capacity-building and network programme are Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka, while institutions and scholars from other countries in South Asia also take part in the SARNET activities.
The main output of the multi-year programme will be the publication of the “South Asia Labour and Employment Report: Towards Inclusive Growth” to be released in 2016.
The SARNET project which is being implemented by the Institute for Human Development (IHD), New Delhi in close collaboration with ESCAP and the ILO, with support from the IDRC and key research institutes in various South Asian countries.
