The workshop aims to promote trade facilitation and paperless trade implementation in selected countries from Central Asia and other regions. It will provide participants with (i) enhanced understanding of the current developments in e-commerce, digital trade facilitation, single window, and the essential role of trade finance in supporting international trade; (ii) enhanced knowledge of the potential use of technology and innovation for trade facilitation, including lessons learned from country experiences, best practices, and initiatives on the use of digital technologies in facilitating cross-border trade. The workshop will also provide information on related work being done by the co-organizers - ADB, ESCAP, WCO and EEC - in this area.
