Meeting on Implementation of TTFMM Baseline Studies in Bangladesh, Bhutan and Nepal

21 Oct 2015
Wuhan, China

UNESCAP and ADB have been assisting Bangladesh, Bhutan and Nepal to establish sustainable trade and transport facilitation monitoring mechanisms (TTFMM) for the past several years. The ultimate goal of TTFMM is to enable a country to more effectively monitor trade and transport facilitation. At the same time, the coordinated and harmonized implementation of the mechanisms is expected to enhance trade facilitation among South Asian Subregional Economic Cooperation (SASEC countries) and to facilitate the effective implementation of the recently agreed Bangladesh, Bhutan, India and Nepal (BBIN) Motor Vehicle Agreement. In this context, the meeting took stock of the relevant work which had been carried out and discussed way forward to implement TTFMM baseline studies in these countries.
