The United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) organized a virtual expert group meeting on National Policy Framework for Cross-border Paperless Trade, on 20 August 2020. The purpose of the meeting is to review a study, which was conducted to collect good and best practices of national policy framework for (cross-border) paperless trade in the region. The meeting aimed to: (1) identify essential building blocks and attributes (legal and regulatory environments, both national and agency level) for the national policy framework; and (2) develop a template that could accommodate different models and varying degree of cross-border paperless trade measures developed at country level. The study and the EGM would support the preparation for the implementation of the Framework Agreement on Facilitation of Cross-border Paperless Trade in Asia and the Pacific.
