23 Sep 2019 to 24 Sep 2019
Meeting Room H (MR-H), United Nations Conference Centre (UNCC), Bangkok, Thailand
By invitation only

From 23 to 24 September ESCAP and UNFPA organized the Expert Group Meeting on Monitoring implementation of the Asian and Pacific Ministerial Declaration on Population and Development at the UN Conference Centre in Bangkok. This meeting followed the Midterm Review of the Asian and Pacific Ministerial Declaration on Population and Development held in November 2018, during which Member States recommended that ESCAP and UNFPA develop a regional monitoring framework to monitor implementation of the Programme of Action of the International Conference on Population and Development and the Asian and Pacific Ministerial Declaration on Population and Development. This framework is being developed in the context of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. The meeting provided an opportunity for experts from Governments, civil society, and academia to contribute to the draft monitoring framework which will be considered at the 76th Session of the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific in May 2020.
