Expert Group Meeting on Macroeconomic Prospects and Policy Challenges in Asia and the Pacific, including Countries with Special Needs

4 Dec 2017 to 6 Dec 2017
Bangkok, Thailand

The Expert Group Meeting will take place on Monday, 4 December and Wednesday, 6 December 2017 in Meeting Room A of the United Nations Conference Centre in Bangkok.

The meeting will bring together eminent experts from the region and beyond, to provide regional perspectives and share in-depth country experiences on key economic and development issues.
The objective of this EGM is to provide a platform for policy debate and knowledge exchange among participants, with a focus on the analyses and policy considerations outlined in the Economic and Social Survey of Asia and the Pacific 2018. The Survey 2018 will be structured around the theme “Financing for development in support of the 2030 Agenda”. Specifically, the Survey will highlight that effectively pursuing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) requires substantial investments, for which wide financing gaps remain. Hence, the Survey will examine policies aimed at increasing the size of financing for development by strengthening public finance and leveraging private finance for an effective pursuit of the SDGs.
Note: This meeting is strictly by INVITATION ONLY.
