Asia-Pacific Workshop on Building Capacity to Develop Youth Policies
As part of the ESCAP-led Development Account project: Strengthening the capacity of Governments in Asia and the Pacific, Africa and Western Asia to respond to the needs of youth in formulating inclusive and sustainable development policies, the Asia-Pacific Workshop on Building Capacity to Develop Youth Policies was held on 29 March 2016 in Bangkok. This meeting brought together representatives of government and youth-led organizations from Cambodia, India, Kyrgyzstan, Malaysia, Mongolia, Philippines and Sri Lanka to review the findings of a regional analytical report examining challenges and opportunities in the school-to-work transition. Participants also identified related good practices and lessons learned to serve as material for an online interactive Youth Policy Toolbox. During the meeting, a prototype of the Toolbox was presented for discussion, and valuable feedback on how to develop it further was received from participants.
