Eleventh Meeting of the Expert Working Group on Energy Connectivity will primarily focus on discussion of the draft Green Power Corridor Framework.
Objectives
The 11th meeting of the EWG-EC was held to discuss the following main questions and to provide guidance to the secretariat:
- Does the Green Power Corridor framework accurately reflect the needs and goals of ESCAP member States in enabling sustainable power system connectivity, and meet the requirements of Road Map Strategy 9?
- How should ESCAP best map existing power grids in Asia-Pacific, track the development of new grids, and model power systems across the region?
Expected Outcomes
The outcome of the 11th EWG-EC meeting informed the finalization of the Green Power Corridor Framework, as well as guided the secretariat’s engagement with partnerships and future work on multilateral power trade and mobilizing finance for power system connectivity. It also informed the organisation of meetings planned for 2023, in particular the Asia-Pacific Energy Forum.
