China, Mongolia, and the Republic of Korea are parties to the Framework Agreement on Facilitation of Cross-Border Paperless Trade in Asia and the Pacific (CPTA). Both China and the Republic of Korea stand as global frontrunners in the realm of cross-border paperless trade. Meanwhile, Mongolia has made substantial progress in advancing paperless and cross-border paperless trade in recent years.
This workshop aims to:
- Evaluate the advancements and practices related to cross-border paperless trade in these countries.
- Delve into the potential implications of these practices on other countries in the region.
- Explore prospective pilot projects on cross-border paperless trade.
The workshop is underpinned by the studies jointly supported by the ESCAP Subregional Office for East and North-East Asia and the Trade, Investment, and Innovation Division. It serves as a follow-up action of the second session of the Standing Committee of CPTA which underscores, among other matters, the importance of exploring pilot projects on cross-border paperless trade.
