29 to 30 November 2021 | By invitation only

In 2020, amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, China, Japan and the Republic of Korea (ROK) respectively announced their commitments to addressing climate change, including their efforts to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050/2060. The three countries’ commitments are well received by the international community, and their approaches and strategies for implementation would offer insights to accelerate climate responses in North-East Asia and beyond. With the support of the Executive Office of the Secretary-General of the United Nations (EOSG), and in partnership with the Tripartite Cooperation Secretariat (TCS), the Forum on 29 November 2021 expects to create a platform to share policy practices and explore opportunities for collaboration among major stakeholders on the carbon neutrality transition. Building on the exchanges at the Forum, an Expert Dialogue will be convened on 30 November 2021 to discuss net-zero transition in the energy sector and innovative policies for carbon neutrality goals.
