11th South Asia Economic Summit

The 11th South Asia Economic Summit (SAES XI) was held in Islamabad, Pakistan, during 4-7 December 2018, hosted by the Sustainable Development Policy Institute (SDPI), Islamabad. Since 2008, SAES, led by a group of five eminent think tanks from South Asia, has emerged as one of the most prominent annual gatherings of development professionals in the subregion, and has provided a platform for policy discussions on various topics that are of importance to South Asia, including trade, energy, water, transport, environment, climate change, and disaster risk reduction. The theme of SAES XI was ‘Corridors of Knowledge for Peace and Development’.

ESCAP-SSWA hosted two panel discussions at SAES XI; (i) Roundtable on Regional Cooperation for Achieving SDGs in South Asia, and (ii) Connecting for Trade and Development: Issues and Prospects of Land Transport Corridors of South Asia.
