In 2015, world leaders adopted the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and a set of 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which target areas of critical importance for humanity and the planet.
We all play a role in realizing these Goals! In conjunction with the United Nations Day 2018 celebration in the Asia-Pacific, ESCAP is inviting you to participate in our “SDGs My Way” competition. All you have to do is share with us how you, your family and/or friends are taking action to promote the SDGs in your daily life.
Four prizes are up for grabs in the ‘Judges Favorite Photo’, ‘Judges Favorite GIF’, ‘Most Popular’ and ‘UN Staff’ categories. Winning entries will also be showcased at the UN Conference Centre in Bangkok during the UN Day Asia-Pacific commemoration on 24 October 2018.
Take a photo or design a creative GIF of the action you or your family, friends or colleagues are taking as part of your daily routine to promote sustainability. For example, are you carpooling, using reusable water bottles or tutoring young students? Check out
www.un.org/sustainabledevelopment/takeaction for more examples!
For a chance to win in the “Most Popular” category, post your photo or GIF on social media with a caption on how you are making the SDGs part of your routine. Tag ESCAP’s social media accounts in your post and use the hashtag #SDGsMyWay.
