It’s lunch time, let’s take a break from pollution too!

On 3 September, the UN Compound in Bangkok launched a new energy saving campaign to reduce its footprint. The Earth Hour Campaign automatically switches off office lights during lunch time. This initiative will prevent around 90 tons of CO2 in a year and save the amount of electricity averagely needed to power 280 households in Thailand.

The UN compound’s Environmental Management System (EMS) is implementing concrete actions to reduce the UN footprint in Bangkok. It addresses the environmental challenges associated with UN facilities and operations, including energy, waste, water, travel, and meetings.
