South Asia Consultation on the Post-2015 Development Agenda: Sustainable Development Goals and the Means of Implementation
(Nagarkot, Nepal, 26 August 2014 - 28 August 2014)
As part of a partnership between SAARC, UNDP, ESCAP and ADB, the South Asia Consultation Workshop on the Post-2015 Development Agenda, was held in Nagarkot, Nepal from 26 and 28. The Workshop was convened in the wake of the Third Meeting of the SAARC Ministers on Poverty Alleviation, preceded by the Fifth Meeting of SAARC Secretaries on Poverty Alleviation (Kathmandu, 4-5 April 2013), that had mandated the SAARC Secretariat to convene a Workshop to provide SAARC Inputs for the Post-2015 Development Agenda with relevant UN Agencies.
The Workshop aimed to:
· Articulate a South Asian position on the Post-2015 Development Agenda, including on the new global partnership for development and the means of implementation for the post-2015
· Discuss the role of SAARC in the effective implementation of the Post-2015 development agenda;
· Share the findings and recommendations of the ESCAP/ADB/UNDP Asia-Pacific MDG Report02012/13: ‘Asia-Pacific Aspirations: Perspective for a Post-2015 Development Agenda’.
