Abstract

3.1 Module 2: Specific changes in the SNA 2008, Session 7: Military expenditures—estimation methods.
The presentation discusses the changes in the SNA 2008 regarding the treatment and classification of weapon systems and military related expenditures. The new changes are examined in how they affect GDP. The presentation was given by Andrej Mikus, ESCAP (Russian only).

3.2 Module 3: GDP Exhaustiveness, Session 1. Overview of GDP scope and coverage.
The presentation discusses the concept of GDP as a measure of economic activity. Approaches to measuring GDP will be explained and the scope of GDP within the SNA 2008 production boundary outlined.The presentation was given by Alick Mjuma Nyasulu, SIAP

3.3 Module 3: GDP Exhaustiveness, Session 2: Owner Occupied Dwellings-estimating imputed rent.
The presentation discusses methods and data issues involved in the compilation of output for owner occupied dwellings. Specific focus is on the estimation of imputed rent. Data sources is examined by drawing on examples from the region. The presentation was given by Andrej Mikus, ESCAP (Russian only). (Russian only)

3.4. Module 3: GDP Exhaustiveness, Session 3. Non-Observed Economy— methods to improve coverage in GDP
The session presents the structure and characteristics of the non-observed economy with respect to the production boundary of the SNA 2008. It identifies methods and possible data sources that can be used to expand coverage of GDP. Specific country cases will be discussed and experiences shared.The presentation was given by Andrej Mikus, ESCAP (Russian only).
