The latest edition of the United Nations flagship report, the World Economic Situation and Prospects, will be launched in the Asia-Pacific region on Friday, 14 January 2022. The report warns that with the pandemic far from over, the growth outlook remains uncertain. It examines the recovery of the global economy from the COVID-19 pandemic as new waves of infection, labour market challenges, lingering supply-side constraints and rising inflationary pressures persist.
The regional briefing will share the report's perspective on the Asia-Pacific region's economic outlook and related policy challenges to support robust recovery from the pandemic and long-term sustainable development.
