15 Apr 2014 to 17 Apr 2014
Dhulikhel, Nepal

As an important step in establishing a national sustainable Trade and Transport Facilitation Monitoring Mechanism (TTFMM), a national training workshop will be jointly organized by Nepal National Trade Facilitation Committee, ESCAP and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) in Nepal from 15 to 17 April 2014.

The workshop aims to equip relevant government officials and private sector participants with skills and knowledge on the key components required for implementation of TTFMM subsequent to the workshop. Experts from ESCAP Trade and Investment Division and Transport Division, ADB, World Customs Organization (WCO), research institutes and industry will share their expertise at the workshop.

The workshop will build on the momentum and success of an earlier workshop organized in Phuentsholing, Bhutan on 10-14 March. This concluded that TTFMM should be implemented in Bhutan from 2014, and therefore, agreed to submit the proposed implementation plan to the Bhutan National Trade Facilitation Committee (BNTFC) meeting to be held in April 2014 for final approval.
