Subregional Seminar on Sustainable and Inclusive Transport Development

ESCAP is implementing a programme to promote the formulation and implementation of sustainable and inclusive transport policies in countries across the region. As part of this programme, ESCAP’s Transport Division and Subregional Office for North and Central Asia are collaborating to organize the subregional seminar in Almaty, Kazakhstan.

The objectives of the subregional seminar are to: (i) showcase various regional and global initiatives and policy options for development of sustainable and inclusive transport systems; (ii) share ideas, issues and experiences in building better, more sustainable and inclusive national and urban transportation systems; and (iii) discuss strategies and action plan for formulation of national sustainable and inclusive transport policy.

Senior transport policy makers in member countries and mayors from selected cities, experts and representatives of international organizations are expected to participate in the seminar.
