The Second Meeting of the Expert Working Group on Energy Connectivity

Following the ESCAP Commission resolution 73/8 Strengthening regional cooperation for sustainable energy, the Expert Working Group oOn Energy Connectivity met in December 2017. The Second Meeting of the Expert Working Group (EWG) on Energy Connectivity will meet in Beijing from 12 to 14 December 2018. The Second Meeting will review the status of transboundary power initiatives from South-East Asia, East and North-East Asia, South and South-West Asia, as well as from North and Central Asia.

The objectives of the Second Meeting of the EWG is to define the objectives of the regional roadmap on energy connectivity and to agree on the outline of the regional roadmap. The outcome of this EWG will contribute to the development of the regional workshoproadmap. The draft regional roadmap is expected to be submitted to the Second session of the Committee on Energy for their consideration (October 2019, Bangkok).
The EWG is attended by government- nominated experts as well as subregional and international organizations. The Meeting is hosted by the Electric Power Planning and Engineering Institute (EPPEI).
