Regional Network Meeting on Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in Least Developed Countries (LDCs), Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDCs) and Countries with Economies in Transition (EITs) in Asia and the Pacific
The Regional Network Meeting was held in the UN Conference Centre (UNCC), Bangkok, Thailand on 1 December 2011, and was attended by representatives from selected regional least developed countries (LDCs,) landlocked developing countries (LDCs) and countries with economies in transition (EITs,).
The Meeting discussed/exchanged views on various key issues relating to FDI attraction, promotion and facilitation.
The Meeting affirmed on the merits to maintain and strengthen this regional network. Besides using this network as a platform to exchange best practices and discussion of FDI-related work efforts, the Meeting agreed that the national participants could act as a formal focal point on behalf of their respective countries to provide data and information on FDI inflows and outflows and policies to ESCAP/TID.
