NEASPEC Workshop on Transboundary Air Pollution in North-East Asia

The NEASPEC Workshop on Transboundary Air Pollution in North-East Asia was jointly organized by the UNESCAP Subregional Office for East and North-East Asia (SRO-ENEA) and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) on 10-11 November in Incheon, Republic of Korea.

The workshop provided a platform for more than 25 experts from North-East Asia and Europe to discuss a variety of issues related to assessment and mitigation of transboundary air pollution in the subregion in the course of three sessions: 1) Subregional and national progress in addressing SO2 emissions; 2) National and subregional strategies for co-benefits approach in North-East Asia with a particular focus on black carbon; and 3) Mapping of current mechanisms of cooperation on transboundary air pollution in North-East Asia and identification of potential synergies.
