Indonesia has strived to harness trade as an engine of sustainable development. Trade facilitation and the simplification of trade procedures is key to make trade more inclusive and ensure effective participation in global value chains and the fast growing digital economy. The workshop will introduce the United Nations treaty, entitled Framework Agreement on Facilitation of Cross-border Paperless Trade in Asia and the Pacific, and discuss how Indonesia can take advantage of joining the treaty to accelerate its economic development, including advancing the National Single Window and effectively implementing the WTO Agreement on Trade Facilitation.
