First meeting of the Working Group on the Asia-Pacific Information Superhighway
The first meeting of the Open-ended Working Group on the Asia-Pacific information superhighway will be held on 1 and 2 September 2015, at the Songdo Convensia in Incheon, Republic of Korea. The first meeting of the Working Group is co-organized by the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) and the National Information Society Agency of the Republic of Korea, with the support of the Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning of the Republic of Korea. Participants of the Working Group will include Government representatives from information and communications technology ministries, telecommunications regulators, international and regional organizations, international financial institutions, and representatives of the private sector. In addition to the official meetings of the Working Group, the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) is organizing a capacity building workshop on regional broadband connectivity, from 9 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. on 1 September 2015.
