Expert Group Meeting on Planning and Assessment of Urban Transportation Systems
United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) and the Korea Transport Institute (KOTI) are collaborating with the Ministry of Urban Development, the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport and the Kathmandu Valley Development Authority (KVDA) to organize the Expert Group Meeting on Planning and Assessment of Urban Transportation Systems in Kathmandu on 22 and 23 September 2016.
The objectives of the meeting are to: (a) Exchange views and share knowledge, policies and best practices on planning and assessment of urban transportation system and services; and (b) present and discus the concept of assessment of urban transportation system, sustainable urban transport index (SUTI) for Asian cities that comprises of sustainability indicators.
Senior urban transport policy makers from selected member countries, senior officials from selected cities, and experts and representatives of international organizations are invited to the meeting.
