The United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP) is collaborating with the Ministry of Road Transport and Bridges and Dhaka Transport Coordination Authority, Bangladesh to organize the Capacity Building Workshop on Urban Mobility and Sustainable Urban Transport Index in Dhaka on 12 and 13 September 2018.

The objectives of the workshop are to: (i) introduce the Sustainable Urban Transport Index (SUTI) and data collection guideline; (ii) share the results of the application of SUTI in Asia-Pacific cities; (iii) discuss ways to initiate evidence based policy measure to improve urban mobility in the ESCAP region; and (iv) promote the application of SUTI in other cities/countries.

Transport/urban transport policy makers in member States/cities, experts and representatives of international organizations are expected to participate in the workshop.
