The 5th Meeting of the Technical Working Groups of the Asian and Pacific Network for Testing of Agricultural Machinery (ANTAM)
The Asian and Pacific Network for Testing of Agricultural Machinery (ANTAM) is an initiative led by the Centre for Sustainable Agricultural Mechanization (CSAM) of ESCAP that aims to harmonize testing standards for agricultural machinery in the Asia-Pacific region. The ANTAM Standard Codes promote the use of safe, efficient and environmentally sound agricultural machinery in support of the Sustainable Development Goals.
The Technical Working Groups of ANTAM are tasked to develop and review ANTAM standardized test Codes and provide technical support to ANTAM related work. Each TWG is composed of technical experts in the field of agricultural machinery testing and agricultural engineering nominated by participating member countries.
The 5th Meeting of the TWGs is expected to review and endorse an ANTAM draft quality manual, as well as the updated versions of the equipment list for ANTAM Codes for Power Tillers, Misters-Cum-Dusters and Paddy Transplanters. In addition, participants will be engaged in brief survey activities on matters pertinent to the operations and development of the Network, specifically regarding the adoption process at national level of the ANTAM certification and accreditation of testing stations. This year, the Meeting of the ANTAM TWGs is organized back-to-back with the ANTAM Training of Trainers. TWG members and training participants will visit an agricultural machinery exhibition and attend practical training and field testing on the implementation of the ANTAM Codes.
