2nd Expert Group Meeting on Documentation, Procedures and Information Technology for Rail-Based Intermodal Transport Services in Northeast and Central Asia
ESCAP Transport Division is implementing a project entitled “Development of seamless rail-based intermodal transport services in Northeast and Central Asia for enhancing Euro-Asian transport linkages”. The project is being implemented with the active participation of concerned transport officials in China, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, the Republic of Korea and the Russian Federation.
Under the project, ESCAP has prepared the two following draft reports: a) report on “Documentation and Procedures for the Development of Seamless Rail-Based Intermodal Transport Services in Northeast and Central Asia”, including a proposed unified multimodal transport document, with incorporation of comments submitted earlier by officials and managers at the Expert Group Meeting held in Bangkok on 30-31 August 2016;l and b) report on “Information Technology for Seamless Rail-Based Intermodal Transport Services in Northeast and Central Asia to Enhance Euro-Asian Transport Linkages”.
ESCAP is now organizing the above-mentioned Expert Group Meeting to further discuss and refine the above draft reports, including the proposed unified multimodal transport document, and identify further steps towards streamlining rail-based intermodal transport operations in Northeast and Central Asia.
