Singing Ceremony and Roundtable discussion for South-South and Triangular Collaboration Programme on Science, Technology and Innovation among Cambodia, Lao PDR, Thailand and Viet Nam

After a comprehensive co-creation process, the Governments of Cambodia, the Lao People’s Democratic Republic, Thailand, and Viet Nam have successfully developed a South-South and triangular collaboration programme on science, technology, and innovation. Now, in this side event of the 10th Asia-Pacific Forum on Sustainable Development, the four countries will present this collaboration programme to the public and officially sign it. Moreover, a diverse panel of policymakers, experts, development partners and private sector representatives will highlight opportunities for South-South and triangular collaboration on science, technology and innovation, sharing insights on: 

  1. How can South-South and triangular collaboration foster innovation for the SDGs?  

  1. What are some emerging opportunities in South-South collaboration on science, technology and innovation? 

  1. What policies should be pursued to support private sector engagement in STI activities? 

Moreover, panelists will also explore opportunities to collaborate in five critical areas:  

  1. Supporting the scaling up of start-ups and SMEs;  

  1. Developing talent in science, technology, and innovation;  

  1. Supporting technology transfer and adoption;  

  1. Building an innovation platform for closed-loop plastic packaging; and  

  1. Supporting sustainability in the cassava value chain.
