Ms Rachael Beaven has over thirty years of experience in government statistics, in particular data preparation and analysis.  She has also worked extensively with governments, multilateral agencies and the statistical community, most notably through the United Nations Statistics Division, ECA, ESCAP, World Bank and Paris21.

Ms. Beaven has provided a wide range of technical support, from improving economic and financial statistics to estimating local population using geospatial data.  She is one of the founders of the Inclusive Data Charter, launched at the 2018 High-Level Political Forum, to mobilize political commitments and to advance inclusive and disaggregated data.  Ms. Beaven also led a programme on monitoring the Sustainable Development Goals with United Nations Statistics Division and established a data science hub with the Office for National Statistics of the United Kingdom to explore use of data science, in particular geospatial as well as big data, to monitor progress.

Ms. Beaven holds Master’s degrees in Statistical Applications in Business and Government as well as Business Administration, and a Bachelor’s degree in Geography and Geology.

Pinar Ucar joined the Statistical Institute for Asia and the Pacific (SIAP) as a Statistician/Lecturer in April 2019 where she is responsible for the programme of work on economic statistics and relevant SDGs.

In collaboration with regional and international organizations, she has designed and developed several e-learning courses, webinars and in person trainings e.g. national accounts, statistical business registers, SDG 9, indicators on business impact on well-being and sustainability and SDMX.

She is a member of the UN Committee of Experts on Business and Trade Statistics (UNCEBTS) and ESCAP Data Integration of Community of Practice (DI-CoP).

Pinar holds a MSc in Applied Data Science and Measurement from University of Mannheim.

Ms. Shazna joined the Statistics field during 1999, and is currently working as a Statistician in the Maldives Bureau of Statistics (MBS) of the Maldives. In this role, she leads the Statistics Development and Outreach Division of MBS.

She is mainly responsible for the Statistics Development, Data Dissemination, Implementation of the National Strategy for Development of Statistics, Coordination of the SDG data and Coordination of other statistics related activities among the national stakeholders and international partners.

She is actively involved in the implementation of the Statistical Act and responsible for the development and implementation of National Statistical standards and classifications and in strengthening the weak areas identified within the National Statistical system. She manages the National Statistical Council and the National Statistical Coordinating committee and is a member of the Maldives SDG Technical committee.

She has been actively involved in the Population and Housing Censuses and all major national surveys in the country and assisted in the implementation of international cooperation activities in statistics.

Jeffrey Napoles is a consultant at the Economic Research and Development Impact Department of the Asian Development Bank. Before joining ADB, he worked as a software developer focusing on web and mobile applications. He has also spent a significant number of years as an analyst specializing on research and data management. He holds a degree in Statistics from the University of the Philippines Visayas.
