The above-mentioned workshop is being organized by the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP) in collaboration with the Shah Alam City Council and Mara Institute of Technology. The objective of the Workshop is to enhance capacity of transport planner and policymakers to plan for resilient and inclusive public transport system and to discuss options for developing a comprehensive public transport system in Shah Alam, Malaysia. It will discuss result of assessment of urban public transport system using the Sustainable Urban Transport Index (SUTI). The Workshop aims to bring together relevant transport and urban development experts and stakeholders from public and private sectors, NGOs and academia, national and international experts to share experiences and discuss various issues, challenges as well as strategies on enhancing resilience and inclusiveness in planning of mass transit and urban public transport systems.
