The Expert Dialogue on Data Partnerships to Leave No One Behind: Ways forward for citizen-generated data (CGD) was held on 8 August 2022 from 12:00 to 13:45 hrs. (Bangkok Time, UTC+7).

Peter Koblowsky is an experienced manager, strategist and facilitator of multi-stakeholder processes in the international NGO and development sector. In his career, he devised and led various strategic collaboration programmes for international NGOs, thinks tanks and other actors from across the sectors. Since 2017, he is the global coordinator of the Leave No One Behind Partnership, a coalition of nearly 100 international and national NGOs that aims to give voice and agency to marginalised groups, using a data-driven advocacy approach. He holds a M.A. in Political Science from Bonn University.

Rachael Beaven has over thirty years of experience in govt statistics, in particular data preparation and analysis. She has also worked extensively with governments, multilateral agencies and the statistical community, most notably through the United Nations Statistics Division, ECA, ESCAP, World Bank and Paris21.

She has provided a wide range of technical support, from improving economic and financial statistics to estimating local population using geospatial data. She is one of the founders of the Inclusive Data Charter, launched at the 2018 High-Level Political Forum, to mobilize political commitments and to advance inclusive and disaggregated data. Ms. Beaven also led a programme on monitoring the Sustainable Development Goals with United Nations Statistics Division and established a data science hub with the Office for National Statistics of the United Kingdom to explore use of data science, in particular geospatial as well as big data, to monitor progress. She holds Master’s degrees in Statistical Applications in Business and Government as well as Business Administration, and a Bachelor’s degree in Geography and Geology.

Haoyi Chen is the Coordinator of the Inter-Secretariat Working Group on Household Surveys. Before she joined the current position in September 2019, she led the programme on international migration statistics at the UN Statistics Division. She has also worked on various statistical areas including gender statistics, population censuses, civil registration and vital statistics. She holds a Ph.D degree in Statistics from the University of Florida.

Shantosh Thapa has long-year professional experience in youth engagement and leadership, strengthening youth-led social accountability and good governance. He is current working in VSO Nepal as Youth Engagement Coordinator.

He has been engaged in development sector since 2014 based in different parts of Nepal working in development sector specially with youths and providing support to people from a wide range of backgrounds. He has extensive experience working with marginalized and vulnerable individuals, families, or groups within a variety of settings.

He has a strong background in youth-led advocacy and leadership and actively engaged in Leave No One Behind consortium in Nepal and support to grow and become a leading initiative in Nepal in the area of SDG monitoring using Citizen Led Data (CGD). He has been actively engaged in various youth forums, SDG platforms and in providing feedback on National Volunteer Policy from civil society organizations. He has been leading multi-stakeholder dialogues, provincial and national level dialogues and sharing to echo the voices of marginalized and vulnerable communities through LNOB initiative.

Vân Anh Trần has more than 15 years working in management and development assistance, including accelerating youth engagement into the innovation and social development. She has made efforts in building capacity and promote Vietnam CSO’s engagement in Sustainable Development Goals as well as accelerating the business enagement in CSR/CSV and SDGs. Together with MSD efforts, Van Anh has been promoting the partnership among different stakeholders, including the government, CSOs and Business to creating social values for Vietnam communities through technical innovations and solutions of Startups; and Promoting Child friendly Business models. She holds an MSc. in Rural Development from University College Dublin, Ireland.

Ram Hari Gaihre is a Senior Statistician at the Central Bureau of Statistics, Nepal. He started his career as a government statistician in 1996. Earlier e worked as a resource person at Asian Institute of Technology, Thailand for capacity building training on poverty mapping (SAE) for statisticians at ASEAN NSOs. He worked as a survey design expert in UNESCO office in Kabul, Afghanistan. He led identification of poor households in Nepal using proxy means testing (PMT). He holds M.Sc. in Statistics from Tribhuvan University, Nepal (1993) and M.A. in Economics from the University of Tsukuba, Japan (2013).
