The logistics sector in the ESCAP region is still at developing stage with rooms for improvement. Within the context of Southeast Asia subregion, The Philippines, an archipelago country of over 7000 islands faces particular challenges in developing and maintaining an efficient and effective logistics network. Intra-islands connectivity and uneven population distribution are a complicated endeavor for policymakers and transporters alike. To enhance the efficiency of logistics services, ESCAP provides assistance to countries for developing effective transport logistics policies and for enhancing the professionalism and competence of logistics service providers, including supporting human resource capacity development activities through organizing the Training-of-Trainers (TOT) Workshops.

In this regard, ESCAP collaborates with Philippine Multimodal Transport and Logistics Association (PMTLAI) to co-organize a Training-of-Trainers (TOT) Workshop to improve human resource capacity of the transport and logistics sector and enhance the seamlessness of the logistics network in the subregion. The Workshop will be co-hosted by PMTLAI and held in Manila, Philippines.
