The Samoa Tourism Authority (STA) are in the process of finalizing their next Samoa Tourism Sector Plan for the period 2020/21-2024/25, providing a timely opportunity for UNESCAP to support the process with an application of the EPiC tool in order to review the current status of the document, to determine what recommendations the tool can provide in the areas of coverage and monitoring for consideration by the STA.

As such STA, in collaboration with SBS and EPPD, have indicated a willingness to work with UNESCAP to implement the EPIC online App for this newly developed Samoa Tourism Sector Plan, 2020/21-2024/25.

The focus of the workshop exercise was threefold; i) reviewing the coverage of “Issues for Action” presented in the document, ii) reviewing the final “Statistical Indicators” proposed for monitoring progress against these issues, and iii) reviewing the alignment of steps to achieve these results.
