UN.Skillport is a comprehensive e-Learning platform launched by OHRM to complement the instructor-led curricula in this catalogue. UN.SkillPort allows staff members of the Secretariat to learn anytime and anywhere through the web.
There are over 9,000 online courses and 20,000 online books available 24x7. Course highlights include:

Is the skillport available to staff members anywhere in the world? What about Agencies, Funds and Programmes and those without a un.org e-mail address (UNICs)?
UN staff members who have a valid UN email address should have access to UN.Skillport. Agencies, Funds and Programmes, such as UNDP, UNICEF, and UNFPA, have separate entrances to Skillport. Please check with your Skillport administrators for it.What is Books 24/7 and how can staff members use it?
Books 24x7 is one of the largest online book resource of the latest business and technology books. Referenceware® is the technology behind the collection of reference books, reports and white papers from industry publishers. You can read the full-text books on the internet, download chapters on your mobile devices (eg. iPAD, Kindle), and listen to the audio books.Do I notify my EO when I have successfully completed a course or is this done automatically.
When courses are completed, staff members can print out certificates, and submit them to the EO as their training records.Can I add successfully completed SkillPort courses to my PHP?
Staff members are encouraged to add the completed Skillport courses into their PHPs and e-PASes.Can I take time during the work day to do SkillPort courses, and if so how much time?
Participation in any training during the workday needs to be agreed with your supervisor. A staff member, as appropriate and with their supervisor's agreement may take time during the workday to complete a Skillport course, particularly if this an approved part of the staff member's development plan. This time may be included in the provision for a recommended five days of learning per staff member per year (quote ST/SGB/2009/9) However, Skillport of course also offers the flexibility to take classes in your own time and at your own convenience away from the office.
