Fourth Asia-Pacific Trade and Investment Week to be held in Bangkok, 1-6 November 2015

The Asia-Pacific Trade and Investment Week brings together government officials and other stakeholders every two years for discussions on issues of importance to trade and investment policy making in the region.

The theme of this year’s event is participation in global value chains. This is also the focus of the Asia- Pacific Trade and Investment Report 2015, which highlights current regional trends, and discusses policies to ensure inclusive development outcomes from trade and investment. Drawing on the presence of senior policymakers from across the Asia-Pacific region, the week hosts a number of engaging events related to trade and investment policy making, covering areas from trade facilitation and trade agreements, and science, technology and innovation (STI) policies, to responsible business practices.

Highlights of the week include:

- Launch of the Asia-Pacific Trade and Investment Report 2015, 2 November 2015
- 12th Asia-Pacific Business Forum, 3 November 2015
- Expert Group Meeting on Trade Policies for Sustainable Development, 4 November 2015
- Regional Workshop on Harnessing STI for Sustainable Development, 2 November 2015

The week will culminate in the Fourth session of the ESCAP Committee on Trade and Investment.
