Capacity-building for clinical diagnosis and care management of dementia

It is an education programme for several different groups to improve their awareness of dementia and dementia care. Training for health professionals was offered to memory specialists, general practitioners, case managers, and community health doctors. By 2014, almost 700 memory specialists, 1,000 physicians and 200 nurses received the training. Educational programme for the general public included a national campaign co-sponsored by China Central Television (CCTV) and education for journalists.

Online Training for Dementia Care (痴呆优质照护在线培训课程)

The online training course is designed for professional care workers and family carers of persons with dementia. It was developed by Alzheimer’s Disease Chinese (ADC) in collaboration with Peking University Institute of Mental Health and China Alzheimer’s Project. There are 5 modules for the "Dementia: Basics course" and 10 modules for the "Dementia: Advanced course". Access to these 15-modules is available at at any time, for a fee.

China Alzheiner's Project (记忆健康360工程)

The China Alzheimer's Project was launched in 2009 by the China Contemporary TCM Institute (an NGO under the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine). Its mission is to raise public awareness on prevention, care, and knowledge of Alzheimer's disease and to reduce the incidence of such disease. To do so, the organization has carried out various activities such as education, research, and advocacy. It also established cooperation with the Nursing School of Peking University Medical Center in 2010 to jointly develop education and training programs.

Training Programme for Older Drivers' Road Safety (高齢ドライバーのための交通安全教育プログラム「いきいき運転講座」)

In order to promote a vibrant ageing society, JAMA has developed, since 2004, an educational programme for older drivers' safety in Japan. Developed with experts in neurology, transport psychology and sociology, the programme is designed to improve the learner's alertness, brain functions and ability to drive safely. The training materials are available for free on the website, and they are to be used in a group learning with a facilitator.

Memory Class (记忆训练班)

Persons with mild cognitive impairment and early stage of dementia can benefit from memory class, offered by registered occupational therapists and social workers who design customized activities to improve the brain function (such as memory, attention, problem solving, arithmetic, logical reasoning and language abilities).
